
Grider Stays Hot But RedHawks Sink AirHogs

FARGO, N.D. - Casio Grider reached base three times and picked up two more RBIs, but the Texas AirHogs dropped the second of a three-game set in Fargo Wednesday by a final of 5-3.
Miguel Rosario (1-5) got the start for Texas and was tagged for three runs in the third. He lasted into fifth, allowing seven hits and a total of four runs (three earned) while striking out three and walking three. DJ Brown (4-0) earned the win against the AirHogs for the second time this season by going 6.1 innings and scattering nine hits and three runs (two earned).
Texas got on the board in the fourth when Grider legged out an infield single to score Dillon Thomas, who had doubled for the second time in the game earlier in the inning. In the fifth, the AirHogs added another run on a sacrifice fly by Lu Zhenhong to score Chen Chen, who had doubled to start the frame.
Grider picked up an RBI triple in the sixth to pull the AirHogs back within 4-3 before the RedHawks extended the lead back to two vs. Texas reliever Yang Yanyong. Fargo was led by Chris Jacobs, who finished 3 for 4. Keury De La Cruz paced the home team with two RBIs.
Fargo outhit Texas 10-9. The AirHogs stranded six while Fargo left 12. Zheng Chaoqun completed a scoreless seventh behind Tu Jialun before facing the minimum in the eighth with the help of one of three double plays turned in the game by the Texas defense. Grider now has six hits and seven times reaching base in the series. He has driven in five of Texas's seven runs so far.
Texas (8-27) and Fargo-Moorhead (19-17) close the series Thursday at 12:30 p.m. RHP Meng Weiqiang (3-3, 3.23 ERA) will get the start for the AirHogs vs. LHP Will Solomon (3-4, 4.95 ERA) for the RedHawks. A live broadcast of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
