Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that pitcher Ryan Quigley has joined the Cougars from extended spring training while pitcher Jonathan Joseph has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to April 10. The current roster move maintains Kane County's active squad of 25 players as the team continues a nine-game homestand tomorrow at noon.

Quigley (22nd Rd, 2009) pitched in 17 games with the Arizona A's (Rookie League) last summer, posting a 3-2 mark with a 4.62 ERA. A closer in college at Northeastern University, Quigley ranks among the school's leaders in career strikeouts-per-nine innings (2nd), strikeouts (10th) and saves (5th). Quigley was signed by current A's scout and former Cougar Marc Sauer, who played at Kane County in 2000 and 2001.

Joseph heads to the disabled list after pitching in the team's first game last Thursday against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
