Fifth Third Field To Host Fifth Annual Cedarville Baseball Classic
April 13, 2010 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Dayton Dragons News Release
DAYTON, OH - For the fifth consecutive season, the Cedarville Baseball Classic will be held at Fifth Third Field. The Yellow Jackets will play host to Wilmington College on Wednesday, April 14, at 7 pm. Gates open at 6 pm.
The annual game is part of Cedarville University's sport management curriculum as students coordinate all marketing, operations, and entertainment aspects of the game.
Admission cost is $4, and all proceeds go to the Haiti Relief Fund. Fans can also purchase a food package for $7 that includes admission to game, a hot dog, soda, and chips.
The Cedarville Classic will provide a similar experience that fans have grown to love the Dragons for: the mascots, music, entertainment, and delicious stadium food.
The Yellow Jackets are led by third-year head coach Mike Manes, who last season guided Cedarville to 32 victories, the most in program history. Manes was named the 2009 NCCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year. The team qualified for the NCCAA playoffs twice in Manes first two seasons with the team.
Last summer, Cedarville University began the process of joining Division II of the NCAA.
