Puffer Added to Zephyrs Roster

Metairie, LA – The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros would like to announce that the Astros have optioned pitcher Brandon Puffer to New Orleans. To make room on the roster for Puffer, pitcher Greg Miller has been assigned to Class AA Round Rock.

Puffer has a 0-0 record with a 5.14 ERA (12ER/21 IP) in 13 appearances for Houston in 2003. For the Zephyrs this season Puffer is 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA (5 ER/27 IP) in 20 appearances while recording five saves. Miller went 0-3 with a 7.02 ERA (32 ER/41 IP) in nine appearances (7 starts) for the Zephyrs in 2003.

The Zephyrs conclude the three game series with the Nashville Sounds on Wednesday at 12:00 PM in Nashville. The Zephyrs defeated the Sound 8 to 2 on Tuesday Night as Jared Fernandez picked up his sixth win of the season and Mike Moriarty and Henri Stanley homered as the Z's trail the Sounds by 1 ½ games in the PCL Eastern Division.
