Pride beat Grrrowl 5-3 for their 40th win of the season

FLORENCE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl dropped a 5-3 decision to the Pee Dee Pride in front of 4,263 at the Florence Civic Center Thursday night. Greenville remains 4 points ahead of Augusta for the final playoff spot in the Southeast Division.

The game's first goal was a powerplay marker scored by Alan Sirois at 8:44 of the first period after a scramble in front of Greenville goaltender DAMIAN RHODES. In the second period, Matt Reid (5:19), Wes Goldie (14:28), and Mike Glumac (16:05) scored goals to give the Pride a 4-0 lead. Yesterday, Glumac was named to the 2002-2003 ECHL All-Rookie Team. JOSH LEGGE put Greenville on the board with his second goal of the season at 17:01, and 1:46 later MATT DEMARSKI pulled the Grrrowl within two with his team-leading 25th of the year. Pee Dee led 4-2 after two periods.

Greg Schmidt gave Pee Dee a 5-2 lead just 32 seconds into the third period, and CHRIS LYNCH capped the scoring when he tipped a JOHN LYNCH shot from the slot past Ron Vogel at 16:22. The Pride outshot the Grrrowl 36-22, and posted their 40th win of the season in the process.
