
Power Walks off over Lexington in 10

(Charleston, W.V. - September 1, 2015) - The West Virginia Power walked it off against the Lexington Legends 3-2 on Tuesday night at Appalachian Power Park. Connor Joe's RBI single in the tenth inning provided the Power with its sixth walkoff of the season. With the victory, the Power picked up its 82nd win of the season, matching a franchise record.
West Virginia scored twice in the bottom of the second inning. Following a leadoff single by Jerrick Suiter, Elvis Escobar tucked a two-run home run inside the right field foul pole to put the Power ahead 2-0.
Lexington scored their first run in the eighth inning. After Chad Johnson led off the eighth with a double to right, he scored two batters later on an RBI groundout from Anderson Miller.
In the ninth inning, the Legends tied the game against Power reliever Jose Regalado. With Lexington down to its final s trike, DonAndre Clark singled and an error allowed Clark to advance to third. Austin Bailey followed with a double to right field to score Clark, which tied the game at two.
West Virginia walked it off in the tenth inning. Following a leadoff single by Kevin Newman, Connor Joe lashed a first-pitch single to right-center, scoring Newman and it gave the Power the 3-2 victory.
West Virginia (45-19, 82-51) concludes the final homestand against Lexington (24-38, 55-77) on Wednesday night. RHP Alex McRae (6-9, 4.97) will start in the final home game of the regular season for West Virginia opposite Lexington RHP Corey Ray (5-6, 5.97). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. while pregame on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490, the Power website, and the TuneIn Radio App is slated for 6:45 p.m.
After Wednesday's game, the Power finish the regular season with five games in Kannapolis and will return to Appalachian Power Park for Game One of the South Atlantic League's Northern Division Championship Series against the Hickory Crawdads on Wednesday, September 9. General Admission tickets are free when acquired in advance while box seats are available for just $2 when purchased prior to September 9. Additionally, the first 1,000 fans will receive rally towels. The free tickets are courtesy of Suddenlink, Proud Eagle, Thomas Hospital, MVB Bank, and the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
