
Oscar Marin Named All-Star Coach

Hickory, NC - Eric Krupa, President of the South Atlantic League, has announced the selection of the 2015 Annual All-Star Team, with Hickory Crawdads pitching coach Oscar Marin selected as the best Coach in the SAL. Marin, 32, has been at the helm of one of the best pitching staffs in franchise history this year, which led the way to the 'Dads winning the first half Northern Division Championship. Crawdads pitchers currently rank 2nd in the SAL in ERA (3.16), while placing 1st in WHIP (1.21), 2nd in hits allowed (1,052), 2nd in earned runs (407), and 4th in strikeouts (1,036). Marin's staff is also comprised of several of the best pitchers in the league, including Ariel Jurado (12-0, 2.34 ERA), Collin Wiles (11-3, 2.92 ERA), and Yohander Mendez (3-2, 1.86 ERA). The All-Star Team was voted on by the 14 SAL team's Field Managers, General Managers, Sports Writers and Broadcasters, for a total of 56 votes. Unlike the midseason All-Star team, both the Northern and Southern Divisions are combined on to one list for the Annual All-Star Team.
