The Crawdads plated a run in the first against Power spot starter Trent Stevenson when Christian Villanueva was credited with stealing home. Drew Maggi provided all the Power runs, doubling in the tying run in the third and hitting a two-run home run in the fifth. Victor Black earned the win, and Justin Ennis notched his first SAL save. West Virginia split the series at Hickory 2-2.

POWER V LEGENDS: West Virginia has played Lexington more than any other team dating back to the 2005 season. The Power lead the all-time series 65-60 and have the edge at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, winning 38 of 66 games. The Legends, however, hold a 32-27 mark at Appalachian Power Park.

MAGGI-CAL: Drew Maggi is batting .367 this month with two home runs and nine runs batted in. Maggi hit .141 with three runs batted in during April, and .242 with nine batted in during May. The shortstop's batting average has climbed from .210 at the end of May to .260 during 21 games played in June.

NO FREE PASSES: West Virginia's pitching staff continues to lead all of baseball with the fewest number of batters walked this year. Power pitchers have combined to walk 150 batters through 72 games. The next closest team is Wilmington in the Carolina League with 168.

INTO THE FRYING PAN: Pittsburgh promoted Eric Fryer to the Major League roster on Saturday, and he will be the 19th former Power players to see big league action once he plays. Fryer batted .335 for West Virginia during the 2008 season while the club was affiliated with Milwaukee, was traded to the New York Yankees prior to the 2009 season, and was acquired by the Pirates in a deal for Eric Hinkse in June of that same year.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Rogelio Noris hit 15 home runs for West Virginia during the 2010 season and has added six to that total so far this season. Stephen Chapman holds the single-season record with 24, which is also the most by any player during his respective stint with West Virginia. Noris ranks third all-time in Power history with 21 career home runs, trailing only Chapman and Kenny Holmberg (22 home runs over two seasons).

ROSTER MOVES ROLL ON: Pittsburgh made three moves that affected the Power roster on Friday. The Pirates promoted reliever Porfirio Lopez to the Bradenton roster today and replaced him with left-hander Justin Ennis. In addition, Chase Lyles was activated from the Temporary Inactive list.

FLASHBACK: West Virginia finished the first half of the 2011 regular season with a winning record. In 2009 during the first year as a Pirates affiliate, the Power were 27-43 at the All-Star break with a team batting average of .254 and held a staff earned run average 4.66. At the break during the 2010 season, the club was 31-39 with a .235 average and a 4.28 ERA. West Virginia hit .258 as a team during the first half of this season and had a staff ERA of 3.68.

POWER POINTS: Dan Grovatt went 0-2 in last Tuesday's SAL All-Star Game, while Brandon Cumpton tossed one scoreless inning... Former Charleston Charlie and Pittsburgh Pirate Kent Tekulve will appear at Appalachian Power Park on July 1.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 4-2 at Boston at PNC Park... Indianapolis beat Pawtucket 7-5... Altoona was shutout 6-0 by Harrisburg... Bradenton beat St. Lucie 11-3 in a rain-shortened game... State College lost 8-1 at Mahoning Valley.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
