POWER REPLAY: The Power and Grasshoppers were rained out yesterday and will play two today. West Virginia beat Greensboro 5-2 on Saturday night. The Power took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a past ball, but the Hoppers tied the game in the third on a double by Isaac Galloway. West Virginia regained control for good in the fourth on a Rogelio Noris run-scoring ground out and an Elias Diaz RBI double. The Power would tack on runs in the fifth and eighth to back Zack Dodson's second win of the year. The final Greensboro run came in the ninth against the Power bullpen.

DOUBLE THE FUN: The Power are 2-2 on doubleheaderdays this season. West Virginia swept a twinbill with Savannah on April 10, winning 9-1 and 2-0. The Power lost both games of a doubleheader on April 23 at Kannapolis in walk-off fashion, leading 7-6 going in the last half inning and falling 8-7 in both games. The Grasshoppers are 2-2 as well, splitting at Delmarva on April 9 and at Lakewood on the 13th.

HISTORY WITH THE 'HOPPERS: West Virginia continues its season series against Greensboro tonight. The Power and Grasshoppers will meet 18 more times during the 2011 season, including 10 games at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia holds the all-time edge in the series with 48 wins over 76 games, including a 25-13 advantage at home, but did lose seven times in nine games last year.

BULLPEN SWAP: The Pittsburgh Pirates have added reliever Brooks Pounders back to West Virginia's active roster and shifted Zac Fuesser to the State College roster. Pounders has appeared in five games for the Power, going 2-0 with a 2.70 earned run average, while Fuesser is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA over five appearances, including five shutout innings in Wednesday's win.

NEW SINGLE GAME HIGHS: The Power offense set new single-game highs in three categories at the conclusion of Wednesday's suspended game. The 14 runs scored were that most in any game this season, surpassing the previous high water mark of nine. In addition, West Virginia hitters had never hit more than one home run in any game this year and had not walked more than six times in any single game. Justin Howard and Andy Vasquez hit the home runs, while Suns pitchers issued nine walks.

STREAK STOPPED: Matt Curry's hitting and on-base streaks were snapped Friday at six and 17 games, respectively. During his six game hitting streak, Curry batted .526 with two home runs and eight runs batted in and matched Justin Howard for the longest such streak by any Power player this year. During Curry's on-base streak, he batted .407 and held an on-base percentage of .507.

ALL SYSTEMS WERE A GO: The Pittsburgh Pirates added Jameson Taillon to the West Virginia roster lastWednesday and made his professional debut that night. Taillon pitched two innings and allowed a run on three hits and two walks. The right-hander was selected second overall by the Pirates during the 2010 draft, just behind the Suns (a Washington affiliate) Bryce Harper. Taillon signed at the deadline last August, did not pitch until the fall instructional league, and will make his second appearance tonight.

POWER POINTS: Zac Fuesser's five relief innings on "Wednesday" were the most by any Power reliever this season... The Power were limited to two hits last night in a 3-1 loss to the Suns, matching their season low for hits in a game... Gift Ngoepe currently has the longest current on-base streak by any Power player at 13 straight games dating back to April 11.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh doubled up Colorado 8-4 and took two of three from the Rockies over the weekend... Indianapolis fell 6-1 against Durham at home... Altoona beat Erie 6-5... Bradenton lost 3-2 at St. Lucie after allowing a run in the bottom of the eighth.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
