
RiverDogs Return to the Joe for Eight-Game Homestand

CHARLESTON, SC - After an eight-game northern road trip, the long and winding road of the South Atlantic League season brings the Charleston RiverDogs back to the friendly confines of the Holy City. The Class A affiliate of the 27-time World Champion New York Yankees ushers in an eight-game homestand, May 5, versus the Lakewood BlueClaws. The West Virginia Power follow the BlueClaws into Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, giving fans plenty of opportunity to head to The Joe to root on Charleston's favorite professional sports team.
Always a fan favorite, Budweiser Thirsty Thursday gets the fun started on May 5 as patrons get the opportunity to "Be Your Own Fan" while enjoying $1 beers. The exciting action continues on and off the field as the weekend progresses. Fans will be treated to a RiverDogs Personal Beach Cooler Bag on Saturday, May 7, as part of the second Lowcountry Local First Go LocalSaturday of the campaign, courtesy of Germain Dermatology. The RiverDogs pull out all the stops on Mother's Day, honoring the Lowcountry's Baseball Mom of the Year as a headliner for CCPRC Family Sunday.
The off-the-wall promotions the Charleston faithful have come to expect will be delivered as well. Look My Hot Dog is GREEN Night takes place on May 10, which gives fans the chance to savor a delicious Riley Park hot dog while possibly stumbling upon some of the $1,000 in cash that will be distributed throughout the franks that night. Dedicated nurses of the Lowcountry receive their due as Charleston wraps up its homestand against the West Virginia Power on Salute to Nursing Night, May 12. Baseball fanatics can fulfill their hardball needs from May 6-8 as The Citadel makes the push for the postseason in the afternoon, before the RiverDogs take the field as the premiere act in the evening.

Forget Friday as the weekend fun starts on Thursdays at The Joe as Riley Park is the place to be. With $1 beers in the Ashley View Pub and fresh music courtesy of the stylings of DJ Natty Heavy, we have everything one needs to party. It's not often one gets to meet a talking baby bent on world domination, but RiverDogs fans will have a chance to do just that as Stewie from the hit show Family Guy pays a visit to the Holy City.
Friday, May 6 - 7:05 pm: Force Protection Industries, Inc. Red Shirt Friday, Piggly Wiggly Post-Game Fireworks
Force Protection Industries, Inc. Red Shirt Fridays have become synonymous with RiverDogs baseball, and the partnership once again allows you to "Be Your Own Fan" while showing your appreciation for members of the military. All patrons wearing a red shirt to the game will blend in with the players on the field and receive a $1 off their ticket. If you're feeling charitable, you may donate that dollar to a military family with parents fighting overseas. Win or lose, cap off the start to another weekend of RiverDogs baseball in style by remaining in the stands to watch the weekly Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks display which ensures everyone goes home a winner.
Saturday, May 7 - 7:05 pm: Personal Beach Cooler Bag Giveaway, Germain Dermatology Women's Wellness Night, Lowcountry Local First Go LocalSaturday
Who doesn't love heading to Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms with a cooler full of food and beverages' Now you will be able to load up a Germain Dermatology RiverDogs personal beach cooler for your trip. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive the second weekly Saturday giveaway of the season. As is the case every Saturday, Tricounty residents will also be able to save a $1 on their ticket and find out about some of the best local businesses in the Holy City and beyond thanks to Lowcountry Local First. After the ballgame, children can take to the diamond for Kids Run the Bases. As an added bonus, the RiverDogs get a jump on Mother's Day with Women's Wellness Night. In conjunction with Melanoma Awareness Month, the staff from Germain Dermatology will be raising awareness about the dangers of skin cancer as the summer months near.
Sunday, May 8 - 5:05 pm: Charleston County Parks and Recreation Family Sunday, Mother's Day - Salute to Mom
The Lowcountry's Baseball Mom of the Year will be honored as a special guest before the RiverDogs wrap up a four-game series with the Lakewood BlueClaws on Mother's Day. The Charleston youth who pours his/her heart out in the best way will also be awarded a prize pack for expressing their feelings about mom in such a special way. Applications will be accepted through May 6 via the RiverDogs Facebook page or by e-mailing byof@riverdogs.com. It's also another CCPRC Family Sunday, meaning one can treat mom to a game and enjoy FREE PARKING and KIDS EAT FREE, presented by Pepsi.
Monday, May 9 - 7:05 pm: Hair of the Dog Monday, Dogs with a Cause featuring Lowcountry Food Bank
Every Monday the RiverDogs partner with a local nonprofit organization to generate exposure and funds for a specific cause, presented by The Bridge at 105.5 FM. This week's ally is the Lowcountry Food Bank, hardly a new partner to the RiverDogs. All season long, fans can cut their ticket price in half when they donate two canned food items to the LowCountry Food Bank, thanks to the RiverDogs association with Piggly Wiggly. The year-long effort is part of a larger league-wide Strike Out Hunger Campaign, presented by Perdue, which will match the contributions made by all 14 SAL members to their respective food banks at the end of the season. Enjoy $1 beers in the Ashley View Pub as one extends the weekend with Hair of the Dog Mondays, presented by 98Rock.
Tuesday, May 10 - 7:05 pm: KRAFT Singles Two for Tuesday, Look My Hot Dog is GREEN
Fans can find just about anything in the unique hot dogs that the RiverDogs' top shelf concessions staff churns out. On this date lucky ones may even be able to find cash. Money will be placed in select hot dogs as fans get the chance to see the RiverDogs take on the West Virginia Power and possibly fatten their wallets while doing so. Those who aren't lucky enough to discover a GREEN hot dog can still save money on another KRAFT Singles Two for Tuesday. Let the RiverDogs' "Build Your Own Hot Dog" theme satisfy your palate. For $20, one can eat to his/her hearts - or stomachs - content in the comfort of the Ashley View Pub. All-you-can-eat hot dogs will be accompanied by 8-10 toppings, potato salad, baked beans, chips, and all-you-can-drink beer (Busch Lite). Seniors Eat Free allows our most senior fans 65 and older to enjoy a free hot dog, chips and Pepsi products all while keeping their wallets fat.

In conjunction with Florence Nightingale's birthday and the end of National Nurses Week, the RiverDogs will honor the nurses of the Lowcountry.
