Lexington Legends News Release

Monday night's game between the Lexington Legends and the Augusta GreenJackets at Whitaker Bank Ballpark was suspended in the second inning due to rain. The game will resume at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday with Lexington batting in the bottom of the second inning and leading 4-0. Following the completion of the suspended game, which will be a nine-inning game, there will be a 30-minute break and then a seven-inning game.

The Legends took the four-run lead with four straight hits in the bottom of the second inning. Chris Wallace and Mike Kvasnicka singled to start the inning, and moved up to second and third on a balk by Augusta starter Mario Rodriguez. Daniel Adamson doubled to left field, scoring both runners, and Tyler Burnett followed with a home run to right to give the Legends a four-run advantage. After Jhonny Medrano walked, the umpires stopped play because of the rain, and the field was covered. The game was suspended after a 40-minute delay. Fans who held tickets for Monday night's game may exchange them for any Legends home game during the 2011 season, based on availability.
