
Power Doubled Up

(Hagerstown, MD- July 26, 2015)- The West Virginia Power were doubled up 8-4 on Sunday afternoon by the Hagerstown Suns at Municipal Stadium. The Suns used a six-run fifth inning to upend the Power and even this series at one win apiece.
After four scoreless innings, the Power broke through against Suns starting pitcher Luis Reyes in the top of the fifth. Jerrick Suiter singled and scored on a Pablo Reyes double for a 1-0 West Virginia lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Hagerstown tagged West Virginia pitching for six runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batter. Wilman Rodriguez singled in D.K. Carey to tie the game at one. Conor Keniry drove in the go-ahead run with a single to right, plating David Masters. The Suns added four more runs in the nine-batter inning, including a two-run home run by Raudy Read off Power reliever Jose Regalado to take a 6-1 advantage.
West Virginia answered with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. With two on and no one out, Jordan Luplow doubled in Tyler Filliben and Elvis Escobar. Michael Suchy singled in Luplow to cut the deficit down to 6-4. The Power loaded the bases with two outs, but could not add any further support.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jose Marmolejos drove a 3-2 pitch from Regalado over the right field wall with a runner aboard to extend the Suns lead to 8-4.
Alex McRae (4-7) took the loss after allowing four runs on three hits over four and a third. Reyes (5-6) garnered the win with five-plus innings of work, allowing four runs on six hits. Eight of the nine Power hitters had at least one hit, including two hits and two runs batted in for Luplow.
The Power and Suns meet for game three of the series on Monday evening at Municipal Stadium. Colten Brewer will make the start for West Virginia and will be opposed by Hagerstown's Justin Amlung.
