Left-hander Cody Reed, who pitched for the Lexington Legends in 2014, is part of the trade that sent Johnny Cueto from Cincinnati to Kansas City. Left-hander Brandon Finnegan, a first round pick by Kansas City in 2014 who pitched for the Royals in the World Series last year, will go to the Reds, as will LHP John Lamb, along with Reed.

With Lexington in 2014, Reed, 22, had a 3-9 record with a 5.46 earned run average in 19 starts. In 84 innings pitched, he struck out 58 batters and walked 36. Reed was pitching for Northwest Arkansas, the Royals double-A team, at the time of the trade.
