Hawks Happenings On The Ice:

The Hawks take on one of the league's top teams in today's Daylight Game as the Victoria Royals come to town for the 4 p.m. afternoon matinee at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Royals had an 11-game winning streak snapped last night in Seattle, and with 79 points are just two behind Kelowna for top spot in the Western Conference.

As part of today's contest, the Coliseum's curtains will be open to allow to daylight into the arena bowl.

Today's game will be the last one at home until March 4, as the team leaves tomorrow night for its six-game trip through the Central Division, with stops in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Kootenay. The team will travel 2,000 miles by bus during the trip while playing six games in nine days.

The trip will be a homecoming for numerous Winterhawks, as Adin Hill, Carter Czaikowski, Ryan Hughes and Skyler McKenzie all hail from Alberta, and will play in front of friends and family. The Hawks only play in their hometowns once every two years, alternating trips between the Central and East Divisions.

After contributing a 44-save night Friday against Everett, netminder Adin Hill made another 48 saves Saturday in Seattle. He's posted a goals against average of 2.78 and .927 save percentage in the six games this month. His play is building on the numbers he put up in January, when his goals against average was 2.71 and his save percentage was .921.
