Swift Current Broncos News Release
The Records: The Broncos are 20-28-4-2. They are 12-14-1-0 at home and 8-14-3-2 on the road. Swift Current is 5th in the East Division and 9th in the conference.
Swift Current (46 points) trails Edmonton and Regina, who each have 55 points for the wild card playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
Regina is 24-23-3-4 this year.
Last Games: The Broncos are coming off a 4-1 home ice win over Medicine Hat Saturday night. Tyler Steenbergen had 2 goals and an assist while Travis Child stopped 35 Tiger shots in the Bronco goal.
Regina scored a 5-2 home ice win over Brandon Saturday night. Cole Sanford had 2 Pat goals.
Taz is Goalie of the Week: Taz Burman was named The Vaughn CHL goalie of the week for his efforts last week. Burman went 2-0-0-1 with a 0.97 goals against average and a .971 save percentage over those three games.
ROSTER MOVES: 97 born defenseman Mark Taraschuk has left the team for personal reasons.
The Broncos have called up 99 born defenseman Dominic Schmiemann from the Notre Dame Hounds of the SMAAAHL. In 37 games with the hounds, Schmiemann has 8 goals, 17 assists and 82 penlaty minutes.
BRONCO DEADLINE DEALS:
Debrusk Dealt: The Broncos traded Jake Debrusk to Red Deer for 18 year old forward Lane Pederson, a 2017 1st round bantam pick and a 2016 3rd round pick.
Schumacher Sent to Seattle: The Swift Current Broncos sent the rights to Andreas Schumacher to Seattle to free up a roster spot for an import.
New Face, Olhaver: After freeing up an import roster spot the Broncos added 18 year old Swedish forward Gustav Olhaver. The 6'7, 220 pound left wing was released by Seattle after they acquired the right to Andreas Schumacher.
Leth left: Cavin Leth was traded to Seattle. The 19 year old forward was exchanged for 17 year old defenseman Sahvan Khaira. Khaira is 6'3.5 and 220 pounds.
Bye to Bow: The Broncos dealt 20 year old goalie Landon Bow to Seattle in exchange for 20 year old forward Jamal Watson, 18 year old goalie Taz Burman and a conditional 2nd round WHL bantam draft pick.
Adamson Added: The Broncos made one deal on deadline day adding 19 year old right winger Austin Adamson from Red Deer for an 8th round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2017.
VS Regina: This is the third meeting of these teams this season. Swift Current is 1-0-1-0 while the Pats are 1-1-0-0. Their last
Meeting was a 4-3 Pats overtime win on New Year's Day in Regina. Jon Martin and Tyler Steenbergen lead the season series in scoring with 4 points in those two games. Regina's Adam Brooks and Sam Steel each have 3 points in the two games.
SICK BAY: Jordan Harris, upper body indefinite. Cole Johnson, upper body indefinite. Max Lajoie missed the last two games due to illness.

Stotts was the only 2000 born player named to a league all-star team. The 15 year old forward leads The Winnipeg Wild in scoring with 18 goals, 17 assists and 35 points in 27 games.
Heward appeared at World U17's: Broncos assistant coach Jamie Heward served as an assistant coach of Team Canada Red at The 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Heward and Team Canada Red lost to Sweden in the Bronze Medal game Saturday.
Bronco Prospect wins gold at Mac's: 1999 born forward and Bronco prospect Tyler Oakenfold was part of the gold winning team at the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary. Oakenfold plays for the Calgary Midget AAA Flames.
Broncos Prospects Shine in U16 Challenge Cup: 3 members of the Broncos Bantam Draft class of 2015 took part in the U16 Challenge Cup in Calgary. Josh Prokop and Jacob Bernard-Docker were a part of Gold Medal winning Team Alberta. 2000 born prospect Riley Stotts led silver medal winners Team Manitoba in scoring. Broncos Assistant General Manager Jamie Porter and Goaltending Coach Derek Purfield also lent their talents to Team Alberta.
Drafted Broncos: Glenn Gawdin was selected in the 4th round by the St. Louis Blues in 2015. Gustav Olhaver as a 7th round selection of the Colorado Avalanche.
