FOX CITIES STADIUM -- Dayton Dragon third baseman Jeremiah Piepkorn doubled three times and drove in a pair of runs, including the go-ahead run in a 6-4 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Monday night. Camilo Vazquez struck out six Rattlers in three innings of scoreless relief for the win. Dayton took three out of four games in the series from the Rattlers.

Dayton (12-18) took the early lead on an RBI double by Piepkorn in the top of the third. Wisconsin (17-14) answered in the bottom of the inning when Jack Arroyo drew a bases loaded walk to force in a run.

Rattler starter Mark Lowe walked the first two batters of the fourth inning and left the game. Reliever Roman Martinez hit the next batter to load the bases. Phil Gentry singled to right to drive in a pair of runs and make the score 3-1 Dayton.

The Rattlers rallied for three runs to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Josh Womack drove in a run with a single. Rob Johnson followed with a two-run double to put the Rattlers in front 4-3.

Cody Strait tied the game with a two-out solo home run that curled around the foul pole in left field. The homer was Strait's first of the season and came off Martinez.

Piepkorn put Dayton back in front with another RBI doubled in the top of the seventh inning.

Piepkorn would double one more time -- to lead off the top of the ninth inning. He would score on a double by John Purdom.

While Piepkorn was hitting, Vazquez was pitching. He struck out six, walked one, and did not allow a hit in three innings for his first win of the season.

Wisconsin attempted to rally in the bottom of the ninth. Blake Hendley walked a pair or Rattlers with one out to bring the winning run to the plate, but Hendley got a force out at second base and a strikeout to end the game.

The Rattlers continue their homestand with a four game series against the defending Midwest League Champion West Michigan Whitecaps. Game one's pitching match-up is Aaron Jensen (2-2, 3.69ERA) for Wisconsin against Jair Jurrjens (2-0, 1.61ERA) for the Whitecaps. Game time is 6:35pm.
