Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING – The Toronto Blue Jays have announced today that righthander Casey Janssen has been promoted to the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League and will join his new team today. Fellow righthander Po-Hsuan Keng, who has been on the disabled list since April 20 with elbow tendonitis, comes off the DL to take Janssen's roster spot.

Janssen, who may have had the best career of any pitcher in Lugnuts history, heads south after compiling a 4-0 record in seven starts for the club. His 1.37 ERA was the best of the Lugnuts starters and he fanned 38 hitters while issuing four walks in 46.0 IP. In all seven of his starts, Janssen worked at least six innings and pitched seven innings in four of his seven outings.

Keng takes Janssen's spot on the roster after being shelved for 18 days with elbow tendonitis in his throwing arm. The righthander from Taipei, Taiwan has a 1-1 record with a 3.86 mark in three appearances for the Lugnuts in 2005.

The Lugnuts wrapup their eight-game homestand against the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays tonight at 7:05 p.m.
