Dayton Roster Undergoes Overhaul

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Dragons roster has undergone a major overhaul with three players being placed on the DL, one getting activated and a pair of 2004 Dragons joining the team from Sarasota in the Florida State League. RHP Ramon Ramirez has been placed on the DL retroactive to May 7, 2005 with a right shoulder strain. OF Kenny Lewis has been placed on the DL retro to May 7, 2005 with a right hamstring pull and LHP Philippe Valiquette has been transferred to the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League.

Joining the active roster for the Dragons is RHP James Morrison. Morrison was placed on the DL on April 28 with a lower back strain. Also joining the team are OF Ben Himes and INF Jeremiah Piepkorn. Both Himes and Piepkorn played for the Dragons in 2004 and were on the roster of the Reds A level affiliate in Sarasota. Himes was on Sarasota's DL, while Piepkorn was on the active roster. Himes, Morrison and Piepkorn are active and will be available for the Dragons final game of a four game series at Wisconsin Monday night.
