
Phoenix Coyotes Assign Matt Climie to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned goaltender Matt Climie to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate. In addition, the Rampage have assigned goaltender Joe Fallon the their ECHL affiliate, the Las Vegas Wranglers.
The 6-foot-3, 194-pound Climie has played in one game for the Coyotes this season. He stopped 15 of 16 shots in 32 minutes at Pittsburgh on Dec. 20. In 18 games with San Antonio this season, Climie has posted a 13-4-1 record with a 2.45 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.
The 27-year-old native of Leduc, Alberta, signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 3, 2010. In 2009-10, Climie appeared in 43 games with the Texas Stars (AHL), posting a record of 21-17-3 with a 2.46 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
Fallon, 25, appeared in four games with the Rampage since being recalled from the Wranglers on Dec. 10. In those four games he recorded a 2-1-0 record with a .900 save percentage and a 2.36 goals against average. Fallon owns a 21-17-1 career AHL record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.77 goals against average in 45 AHL games.
In eight games with the Wranglers this season, Fallon owns a 4-3-1 record with a .924 save percentage and his 2.25 goals against average ranks fourth in the ECHL. He tallied his fourth professional shutout on Nov. 26, 2010 with 17 saves against the Ontario Reign.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Fallon was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round (167th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rampage host the Houston Aeros tonight at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
