Chicago Wolves News Release
Chicago Wolves defenseman JAIME SIFERS, center ANGELO ESPOSITO and goaltender PETER MANNINO will make appearances at four Chicagoland libraries next week as a part of the ¬ÅRead to Succeed ¬Â program, presented by Butternut Bread, Pace and Vista Health System.
The appearances are scheduled for:
Tue., Jan. 4: Jaime Sifers Naperville Public Library 2035 S. Naper Blvd. 4:30 p.m.
Glenside Public Library 25 E. Fullerton Ave. 7 p.m.
Thu., Jan. 6: Angelo Esposito Lisle Public Library 777 Front St. 4:30 p.m.
Peter Mannino Deerfield Public Library 920 Waukegan Rd. 4:30 p.m.
The Wolves players will discuss the importance of recreational reading and encourage kids to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. The players will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and explain how reading and education play a part in their lives as professional athletes.
Children will have the opportunity to win prizes, including Wolves hats, mini hockey sticks and tickets to upcoming Wolves games for setting and achieving their reading goals. The players will also dress a child in hockey equipment and sign autographs.
¬ÅWe are excited to continue to partner with Chicagoland libraries to promote reading outside of school, ¬Â said Wolves Senior Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. ¬ÅThe opportunity for a child to meet Wolves players and hear that they value reading and education in their lives as professional athletes can have a profound effect on their attitude toward recreational reading. ¬Â
Throughout the season, nearly 100 libraries and 30,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries in the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems. More than 550,000 children have participated in ¬ÅRead to Succeed ¬Â since the program's inception in 1995.
