Phoenix Coyotes Assign Lucas Lessio to Portland Pirates

Portland, Maine - Phoenix Coyotes Assistant General Manager and Portland Pirates General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes have assigned left wing Lucas Lessio to the Portland Pirates from the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.

The 6 foot 1, 200 pound Lessio joins the Pirates after spending 3 years with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. In 35 games with Oshawa this season, Lessio tallied 19 goals and 15 assists to go with 38 penalty minutes. Lessio also tallied 1 goal and 2 assists in 9 playoff games. In 167 regular seasons during his OHL career, Lessio, a left winger, has tallied 80 goals and 67 assists. The native of Maple, Ontario was selected in the 2nd round (56th overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
