Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
In celebration of the Eagles' historic Super Bowl victory and the start of 2018 NFL training camps, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs have announced that they're bringing the Philly Special to Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, August 25. (Tickets are available here)
The Pigs' annual Salute to Philadelphia Night presented by St. Luke's University Health Network will feature a lot more green than recent years with a special cap raffle and jersey auction of game-worn Philly Special-inspired IronPigs gear. The special uniforms and caps will be green and feature Philly Special play art.
In the iconic play of Super Bowl LII, tight end Trey Burton tossed a touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles to give the Eagles a 22-12 lead in the closing moments of the first half. The Eagles would go on to win 41-33.
Proceeds from the Philly Special cap raffle and jersey auction will benefit The Children's Home of Easton and IronPigs Charities.
Commemorative Philly Special-themed merchandise is now available in the Majestic Clubhouse Store. Visit the store or ShopIronPigs.com to see the selection of Philly Special jerseys, caps, T-shirts and socks. From now until August 1, you can pre-order a custom Philly Special jersey featuring the number of your choice.
In addition to these Eagles-inspired items, the world's most famous mascot - the Phillie Phanatic - will make his second appearance of the season at Coca-Cola Park. The event-filled evening concludes with Philly Inspired Fireworks.
The 6:35 p.m. contest against the Scranton-Wilkes/Barre RailRiders is the first-place IronPigs' final Saturday home game of 2018.
Located just an hour north of Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and many of their fans were supporting the Eagles throughout their historic run. Prior to the NFC Championship Game, the Pigs shared a photo of Lane Johnson, replacing his underdog mask with a FeRROUS mask.
Then, in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, the Pigs made a wager against the Pawtucket Red Sox requiring the Boston Triple-A affiliate sent 52 clam cakes and 52 stuffed quahogs to the IronPigs after the Eagles triumphed in the Super Bowl.
Tickets for Salute to Philadelphia Night start at just $8. You can secure your seat online, by phone at (610) 841-PIGS (7447), or at the Coca-Cola Park ticket windows during business hours.
