TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30 - PHANTOMS at WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS - 7:05, Wachovia Arena

The Phantoms wrap up the 2008 portion of their schedule with a visit to Wilkes-Barre to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins). It's the sixth meeting of the year between the clubs and the fifth in the last month. The Pens won 4-0 last Friday in Philadelphia, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Phantoms. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has won four in a row, all against East Division opponents, and in the process has taken sole possession of third place in the division and crept within three points of second-place Bridgeport. Heading into Tuesday, the Pens are 20-11-1-1 for 42 points.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 2 - PHANTOMS VS. BRIDGEPORT SOUND TIGERS - 6:05, Wachovia Spectrum

The Phantoms welcome the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders) to start off 2009 in a game that has been moved up to a 6:05 start time. The Sound Tigers currently sit second in the East Division with a record of 21-9-1-2 for 45 points. The Sound Tigers boast two of the top scorers in the AHL in Mike Iggulden (15-21-36) and Kurtis McLean (9-25-34).

SATURDAY, JANUARY 3 - PHANTOMS at TORONTO MARLIES - 4:00, RICOH COLISEUM

The Phantoms start off a nine-day, five-game road trip with an afternoon visit to the Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) in the first of two games between the clubs this season. Toronto starts the week in fourth place in the Western Conference's North Division with a record of 17-13-0-3 for 37 points. Tim Stapleton leads the Marlies in scoring with six goals and 23 assists for 29 points. The Marlies are spreading out their scoring load - a total of ten players have at least 10 points on the year, and no player currently on Toronto's roster has scored more than seven goals.

REMIDER - 6:05 START TIME ON FRIDAY

The Phantoms would like to remind fans that the start time for Friday's game against Bridgeport has been moved up one hour to 6:05 PM. Doors will open at 5:05 PM. The time change was made to accommodate Philadelphia's travel to Toronto for Saturday's game. Fans with questions can call the Phantoms at 215-465-4522 during normal business hours.

DOLLAR DOG NIGHT COMING UP ON FRIDAY

The hot dogs will be flying when the Phantoms hold Dollar Dog Night this Friday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Hot dogs will be just one dollar at all concession stands all night long. In addition, there will be several other related events on the concourse. More information will be forthcoming about the event tomorrow.

NEWS AND NOTES

Jonathan Matsumoto's power-play goal on Saturday snapped an 0-for-25 streak for Philadelphia's power play that dated back to December 14. In the last six games, the power play is 1-for-27 (3.7 percent). The season percentage was 21.6 percent on Dec. 14 and is now 18.7 percent... Philadelphia's longest road trip of the year is coming up this weekend when the club leaves for a nine-day, five-game swing to Toronto, Hamilton, Grand Rapids and Cleveland... defenseman Ryan Parent, who has missed the entire season after undergoing shoulder surgery, was activated from injured reserve by the Flyers and assigned to the Phantoms on Sunday.

PHANTOMS HOCKEY ON THE INTERNET The Phantoms have joined with the rest of the American Hockey League in forming AHL Live, a brand-new way to catch Phantoms hockey on the Internet. Once again this year, all Phantoms games, home and away, can be viewed online at www.ahllive.com. The video broadcasts are $6 per game, and a full-season pass can be purchased for $140.
