LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

FRIDAY, MARCH 30: Penguins 3, WHALE 0...

Scott Munroe turned away all 32 shots he faced to help the Penguins to a 3-0 shutout of the Whale at the XL Center. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton raced out to a big lead after scoring three times in a span of 2:12

Jason Williams potted a power play goal at 6:59, while Ben Street added his team-leading 26th goal of the season 34 seconds later. Cody Wild completed the scoring at 9:01 with his first goal of the season and chased Connecticut starter Chad Johnson from the game.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton went 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

SATURDAY, MARCH 31: Penguins 5, DEVILS 2...

Alex Grant led the Penguins offense with a pair of tallies, but it was Paul Thompson's 10th goal of the season that was the game-winner in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 5-2 victory over Albany at the Times Union Center.

Grant posted the game's first two markers, scoring on the power play with 4:11 left in the first and then even- strength just 1:41 in to the second. Grant, Thompson, Ryan Craig and Nick Petersen all registered their 10th goals of the season for the Penguins.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton notched three unanswered goals after Albany erased a 2-0 deficit in the second period. Brad Thiessen stopped 27-of-29 shots in his first start for the AHL Penguins since Feb. 18.

ICE CHIPS...

Defenseman Alex Grant registered his third two-goal game of the season with his effort on Saturday versus the Devils. He is now third among rookies and fourth among d-men with 26 power play points (7g-19a)...Scott Munroe picked up his fourth shutout of the season with 32 saves on Friday against the Whale...Wilkes- Barre/Scranton has the most road wins in the league (26) and the best road winning percentage (.764, 26-7-0- 3)...The Penguins clinched their 10th straight Calder Cup playoff appearance - the longest current active streak in the AHL... Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has third-highest winning percentage when scoring first (.814).

UPCOMING GAMES

TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 7:15 PM: Penguins vs. ADMIRALS...

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will try to put an end to Norfolk's AHL-record 22-game winning streak when they skate into the Scope on Tuesday.

Led by Cory Conacher, the league's leading goal scorer with 34, the Admirals have not lost since being doubled by Springfield, 4-2, on Feb. 5. Tyler Johnson had his 13-game point streak snapped on Friday against St. John's. The rookie forward totaled 11 goals and 15 assists during the stretch

The Admirals (49-18-1-2) own the best record in the AHL and are 7-2-0-0 in the season series against the Penguins. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has a 63-41-1-7-1 record (W-L-T-OTL-SOL) in the all-time series against Norfolk.

FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 7:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Bears...

Hershey clinched their berth in Calder Cup Playoffs over the weekend despite having their seven-game winning streak snapped by St. John's on Saturday. The Bears (38-21-4-7) sit two points behind the Penguins in the Eastern Conference standings with the two teams battling for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Ryan Potulny recorded his first hat trick of the season as part of a four-point effort on Sunday against Binghamton. He is currently on an eight-game point streak that has seen him compile eight goals and five assists.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is 6-3-0-2 in 2011-12 versus Hershey, but only has two wins at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Penguins hold the edge in the all-time series with a record of 65-55-4-6-5.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 7:05 PM: Penguins vs. DEVILS...

Connecticut (34-24-7-5) trails the Bridgeport Sound Tigers by three points for the top spot in the Northeast Division. The Whale have won just once in their last six games (1-3-2-0) and finish up their regular season schedule with four of their last six on the road.

Connecticut has the fifth-best penalty kill success rate on the road, clicking at 84.9% (141-for-166). They have a 2-4- 1-1 record on the road when leading after the first period. After Friday's shutout against the Whale, the Penguins are 2-0-0-1 in the season series and 8-12-1-0-2 all-time against Connecticut. Scott Munroe has not allowed a non-shootout goal in two matches versus the Whale.

FORMER PHILLIES VISITING PENGUINS...

On Saturday, April 7th, former Philadelphia Phillies Greg "The Bull" Luzinski and Tommy Greene will be at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' game against the Connecticut Whale to sign autographs and drop the puck during a ceremonial face-off.

Fans will have the opportunity to attend a special VIP Meet and Greet with Luzinski and Green prior to the game. Only 100 tickets are available for this exclusive event, taking place from 4:45pm - 5:45pm at Stix Bar on the concourse level of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Cost of the tickets is $50 and includes admission to the Meet and Greet, a ticket to the Penguins game that evening, finger food, an 8x10 color photo of each player and a Penguins baseball. Fans that already have a ticket to the Penguins game on April 7th can purchase a Meet and Greet ticket for $30.

Luzinski and Greene will also be signing autographs on the concourse from 6:00pm - 6:45pm. Admission to the session is $10 and also includes a photo and autograph from each player. Tickets must be purchased through the Penguins' Front Office by calling (570) 208-PENS.

PARALYMPIC SKIER STEPHANIE JALLEN VISITS PENS/POCONO RACEWAY NIGHT...

CHILLIN' WITH THE PENGUINS...

Fans will get an up close and personal look at the Penguins on TV, as CHILLIN' WITH THE PENGUINS hits the airwaves this season. The half hour show will feature Penguins broadcasters Tom Grace and Mike O'Brien chatting with Pens players, and will allow fans to ask questions directly to their favorite Penguins with an interactive Q&A session in each episode.

The show will feature two Penguins players or coaches each week, and will be taped in front of a live audience inside the Ice Rink at Coal Street Park (40 Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre). Ten shows will be taped this season, and aired at 6:30pm as a lead-in to Penguins home games being broadcast on MyNetwork TV.

The next taping will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 5. Admission to each taping is free and open to any Penguins fans in the area.
