Fri., Mar. 28, Albany 2 vs. Rochester 1

Steve Zalewski netted the game-winning goal with 4:39 remaining in regulation, lifting the Devils to a 2-1 win against the Americans at the Times Union Center. Albany trailed 1-0 after two periods thanks to a T.J. Brennan, 5-on-3 goal midway through the second. Eric Gelinas tied the game 43 seconds into the third. Jeff Frazee made 19 saves on 20 shots before leaving with an injury in the third. Keith Kinkaid provided relief, turning away all four shots.

Fri., Mar. 30, Albany 4 vs. Providence 3

Stephen Gionta had a goal and an assist and newcomer David Wohlberg netted the game-winning goal, helping the Devils to a 4-3 win against the Bruins at the Times Union Center. Albany trailed twice during the first two periods thanks to goals by Maxime Sauve. Albany answered each time with tallies from Kory Nagy at 15:25 of the first and Dan Kelly at 17:06 of the second. In the third, Gionta made the score 3-2 at 1:48 and Wohlberg followed at 4:35. Despite allowing a goal with 1:03 remaining, Keith Kinkaid held on for the win and finished with 35 stops.

Sat., Mar. 31, Albany 2 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 5

The Devils fought back from two goals down, but eventually lost, 5-2, to the Penguins at the Times Union Center. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton established a 2-0 advantage with back-to-back goals by Alex Grant. Albany responded in the second period with tallies from Mike Hoeffel (3:39) and Matt Taormina (9:08). Before the end of the period, Paul Thompson netted the game winner at 14:30. Keith Kinkaid finished with 16 saves.

Notables

- The 4-3 win against the Providence Bruins Friday was the Devils 199th victory in franchise history.

- Captain Stephen Gionta registered his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist Friday. For the season, he has 15 points (5g-15a) in 55 outings. He is the Devils all-time leader for games played (359), goals (55), assists (79) and points (134).

- Rookie Joe Whitney increased his team lead for points with a pair of assists Saturday. For the year, he has 13 goals and a team-high 29 assists for 42 points. He is averaging 0.63 points-per-game, which ranks second on the team.

- Jay Leach returned to the Devils lineup for the first time since Dec. 16 on Saturday. Against the Penguins, the Devils dressed seven defensemen: Matthew Corrente, Eric Gelinas, Dan Kelly, Jay Leach, Corbin McPherson, Matt Taormina and Alexander Urbom.

- On Friday, Matt Taormina was returned on loan from New Jersey and appeared in his first AHL game since Jan. 28. On Saturday, the Devils defenseman netted his sixth goal of the season.

- Kory Nagy produced back-to-back points with his third goal of the year Friday and his fourth assist Saturday.

- David Wohlberg, who signed an ATO Tuesday, netted his first career goal Friday. The tally, which came at 4:35 of the third period against the Bruins, was the game-winning goal.

- Against the Penguins, Brad Mills earned his 16th point of the season with an assist. He has 10 points in the last 11 games.
