Penguins Recall Ned Havern From Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled forward Ned Havern from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced on Friday morning.

Havern, 25, Ranks third on Wheeling with 11 points and second with six goals in nine games this season.

The native of Arlington, MA, split last season between Wheeling and the Providence Bruins (AHL). He ranked fifth on the Nailers with 40 points and fourth with 19 goals, despite appearing in only 37 games. He was scoreless in seven games with the Bruins.

A ninth round draft pick (273rd overall) by the Dallas Stars in 2002, Havern has appeared in 12 career AHL games with the Bruins, Lowell Lock Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, recording one assist.

He has also appeared in 116 career ECHL games with Wheeling, the Stockton Thunder and Trenton Titans, recording 99 points (48+51).

The Penguins return to the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza this Sunday, when they will play host to the Binghamton Senators at 5:05pm. For information on Penguins ticket packages, contact the team offices at 208-7367.
