Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HARTFORD, CT - Corey Locke had two assists in a losing effort, as the Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 decision to the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night at the Hartford Civic Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The loss drops Hamilton's record to 4-7-0-3 through 14 games this season.

Hamilton opened the scoring on the power play at 9:19 of the first period when Marvin Degon potted his second goal of the season. Degon took a pass from Locke and buried a shot from the point past Hartford's starting goaltender Al Montoya.

After a scoreless middle stanza, the Wolf Pack evened the score 1-1 at 5:59 of the third frame courtesy of Andrew Hutchinson's fourth goal of the campaign. Thomas Pock and Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau earned assists on the goal.

The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead at the 7:19 mark of the third period when Sergei Kostitsyn one-timed a pass from Duncan Milroy into the back of the Wolf Pack net. Locke, who earned the other assist on the goal, picked up his second point of the game on Kostitsyn's fourth tally of the season.

Francis Lessard then scored two goals in 1:58 of the final frame to give Hartford a 3-2 lead. At 12:33 of the period, Lessard slid home the tying goal through a maze of players in front of Hamilton's net. Lessard then scored the game's eventual winning goal at the 14:31 mark, making the score 3-2. Hugh Jessiman assisted on both of Lessard's third-period goals.

Between the pipes, Jaroslav Halak made 37 saves on 40 shots in a losing effort for the 'Dogs, while Montoya turned aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced for the Pack.

With two assists in the game, Locke (57-111-168) is now eight points behind Tomas Plekanec (71-105-176) for second place on the Bulldogs all-time scoring list, and needs 12 points to overtake Brain Swanson (71-108-179) and become Hamilton's all-time leading scorer.
