
Penguins Recall Forward Greg Pankewicz from Colorado

WILKES-BARRE, PA. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled right wing Greg Pankewicz from their Central Hockey League affiliate, the Colorado Eagles. The announcement was made today by Penguins' team president Jeff Barrett.
Pankewicz, 33, has recorded 57 points (25+32) and 94 penalty minutes in 34 games this season with the Eagles. He is tied for the team lead in scoring and is ranked tied for third in the league in scoring. Pankewicz is also among the league leaders in goals (second) and assists (sixth).
The 6'0", 205-pound native of Drayton Valley, Alberta has appeared in 21 career games in the NHL with Ottawa and San Jose, recording three points (0+3) and 22 penalty minutes.
Pankewicz has recorded 222 points (114+108) and 755 penalty minutes in 274 career games in the AHL with New Haven, PEI, Portland and Kentucky. He has spent the majority of his 13-year pro career playing in the IHL, were he recorded 254 points (127+127) and 997 penalty minutes with three teams (Chicago, Manitoba and Houston).
Pankewicz will not be in the lineup tonight as the Penguins (17-14-4-4, 42 pts; Fourth-place, East Division, Eastern Conference) begin a six-game homestand against the Toronto Roadrunners (12-19-6-2, 32 points; 7TH -Place, North Division, Western Conference).
He is scheduled to make his Wilkes-Barre/Scranton debut on Saturday when the Penguins host the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
Tonight's game, which will be televised live on Adelphia 63, WNEP-TV's 24-Hour News Channel, will be the first-ever meeting between the Penguins and Roadrunners (AHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers).
The first 3,500 fans in attendance tonight will receive a set of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins trading cards, courtesy of Northeastern Pennsylvania Highmark BlueShield.
Approximately 136 tickets are still available for the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets.
