Svitov recalled by Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay Lightning Vice-President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced today that centre Alexander Svitov has been recalled from the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Tampa Bay also reassigned right-winger Shane Willis to the AHL's Hershey Bears on Wednesday.

Svitov, a 21-year old native of Omsk Russia, played in 30 games for the Bulldogs this season and scored 18 points (9-9-18), good for eighth on the team. Svitov currently leads the Bulldogs in penalty minutes with 79.

The 6'3, 217 pound centre has also played in 11 contests with the Lightning this season recording three assists and four penalty minutes. Svitov was selected third overall by the Lightning at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action takes place on Saturday, January 17th when they travel to Albany to face the River Rats. Bulldogs fans can listen to Derek Wills call all the action, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m. on 820 CHAM-AM or on-line at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.
