Return of the Mac from Atlanta

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned center Derek MacKenzie to the Chicago Wolves.

MacKenzie was scoreless in three games with Atlanta after being recalled on Jan. 6.

The Sudbury, Ontario, native leads the Wolves and is tied for fourth in the American Hockey League with two short-handed goals, while ranking third on the team with 11 goals and sharing fourth on the club with 21 points in 35 games this season.

The 22-year-old forward, who was a member of the Wolves' 2002 Calder Cup Champion squad, is playing in his third season with Chicago and has compiled 38 goals, 40 assists and 78 points in 183 games since 2001-02.
