Providence Bruins News Release
Providence Bruins owner Frank DuRoss announced today the addition of two new local owners, by adding C.E.O. Jeff Fear and C.O.O. Matt Poore to his partnership. As co-owners, Poore and Fear will take on the role of Co-Presidents of the team, with DuRoss serving as Chairman and C.E.O.
"As a group we are committed to the Providence market," said DuRoss. "Jeff and Matt will continue to provide the leadership for our organization to execute our strategic vision as we continue in our 12th season here in Providence."
"As Co-President, we will continue to work closely with the Boston Bruins in developing prospects who can make an impact in Boston, such as Nick Boynton and Andrew Raycroft," said Fear, who has been with the P-Bruins since its inaugural 1992-93 season. "At the same time, the Boston Bruins and Providence Bruins are big believers in their prospects playing in a winning environment. To that end, we will continue to provide our fans with exciting hockey at affordable prices."
"Our partnership is further evidence of our goal of making the Providence Bruins remain one of the premier franchises in the AHL," said Poore, who joined the P-Bruins as the team's Vice President of Sales in 1998-99. "We have made numerous changes over the last couple of seasons to help us achieve that goal, and we will continue to progress in strengthening our franchise. As local owners, we are very excited to continue to increasing our presence in the community." The Bruins return home to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Providence Bruins Hat Night, on Friday, January 16 at 7:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins hat, courtesy of the Rhode Island Lottery and WPRI CBS-12/WNAC Fox 64.
