WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins today recalled defenseman Rob Scuderi from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The announcement was made by Penguins' Executive Vice President and General Manager Craig Patrick.

Scuderi, 25, has appeared in 48 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording 13 points (1+12) and 33 penalty minutes. He has played in 197 career games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (2001-2004), recording 57 points (6+51) and 143 penalty minutes

The 6'0", 215 pound-native of Syosset, New York was drafted by the Penguins in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 1998 Entry Draft.

Scuderi played college hockey at Boston College, recording 70 points (7+63) in 168 games and was a teammate Penguins' defenseman Brooks Orpik from 1998-2001. He is now the sixth player to be called-up to the parent-club that started the season in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (19-20-5-4, 47 points; Sixth-Place, South Division) continue their six-game homestand tonight when they host the Toronto Roadrunners (20-22-8-2, 50 points; Fifth-Place, North Division) at 7:05 p.m. at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.

The first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a Tomas Surovy Bobble Head Doll, courtesy of Northeastern Pennsylvania Highmark BlueShield.

Tickets are still available for each of the four remaining games on the homestand. Approximately 100 tickets are still available for tonight's game; 200 tickets are available Friday's game vs. Portland (7:05 p.m.); 80 tickets are available for Saturday's game vs. Norfolk; and 300 tickets are available for Monday's game vs. Binghamton (5:05 p.m.). All fans attending the Presidents' Day game against the Senators will receive a Matt Murley All-Star Poster, courtesy of McCarthy Tire.

Tickets can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets. The Penguins have sold out their last 125 home games (league-record) played in Wilkes-Barre.
