Penguins Reassign RW Steve Webb to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL)

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Craig Patrick announced today that forward Steve Webb was reassigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Webb, 23, played in five games with the Penguins, going scoreless with a minus-3 rating and two penalty minutes.

The 6-0, 211-pound native of Peterborough, Ontario made his Penguins' debut October 25th vs. New York Islanders. He has recorded 18 points (5+13) and 530 penalty minutes in 316 career games with Pittsburgh and New York Islanders.

Webb was claimed by the Penguins off of waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers on October 22, 2003.

He is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Penguins (7-6-1-1, 16 pts; 4TH -place, East Division) host the Hershey Bears (10-3-2-2; 24 pts; 1ST-Place, East Division) at 7:05 p.m. at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.

The Penguins also reassigned goaltender Andy Chiodo from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Wheeling of the East Coast Hockey League. Chiodo, 20, posted a 4-2 record and a 2.19 goals against average with one shutout in eight appearances this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The 5-11, 192-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was selected by the Penguins in the seventh round (199th overall).
