Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins and Hartford Wolf Pack played the front end of a home-and-home series in front of 9,776 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Friday night, with the Bruins taking a 2-1 decision. The win moved the Black and Gold into a tie with the Manchester Monarchs for second place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind Hartford. The Bruins are now 8-6-3-0 on the season.
Providence center Ted Donato tallied the game-winning goal with 3:08 remaining in regulation, on his second goal of the season. Left wing Ivan Huml notched a power play goal in the first period, on his third goal of the year.
Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 20 shots to improve to 5-3-1 on the season.
Prior to the start of the game, the Bruins' wives and girlfriends continued their Thanksgiving Food Drive. They collected non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The Food Drive concludes at the Bruins' next home game, on Wednesday, November 26, when they host the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m. Fans are asked to donate food in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Providence Bruins players are also making a donation to the Food Bank of two Thanksgiving dinners for needy families.
The Bruins are currently offering a Holiday FlexTix Special. The Special gives fans the opportunity to receive a free Providence Bruins hat, with the purchase of 10 FlexTix. The Holiday FlexTix promotion runs through December 31.
The Bruins and Wolf Pack face off again on Saturday night in Hartford at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action live on WDDZ AM-550.
