Penguins reassign defenseman Alexandre Rouleau from Wheeling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, PA. - The Pittsburgh Penguins today reassigned rookie defenseman Alexandre Rouleau from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers, to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Rouleau, 20, has recorded one assist and seven penalty minutes in 11 games this season with the Penguins. In 22 games with the Nailers, he has collected four points (3+1) and 25 penalty minutes and has a plus/minus rating of plus-six.

The 6'1", 190-pound native of Mont-Laurier, Quebec was reassigned to Wheeling for the second time this season on January 7. During his recent stint with the club, he posted four points (3+1) and 25 penalty minutes in 19 games. Earlier in the season, he was scoreless and a plus-two in three games with the Nailers from October 30-November 4,

Rouleau was drafted by the Penguins in the third round (96TH overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (22-21-7-5, 56 points; 6TH-place, East Division, Eastern Conference) visit the Binghamton Senators (26-24-6-2; 60 points, 5TH -Place, East Division, Eastern Conference) tonight at 7 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York.

INJURY UPDATE: Defenseman Patrick Boileau will not play tonight due to back spasms. The Penguins will also be without Michal Sivek (hip), Martin Brochu (lower back strain), Kris Beech (broken collarbone), Ross Lupaschuk (fracture of the fifth metacarpal - left hand), Reid Simpson (abdominal strain) and Steve Webb (fractured ribs) for tonight's game against the Senators.
