Helmer recalled by Coyotes

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that defenseman Bryan Helmer has been recalled by the Phoenix Coyotes, their National Hockey League affiliate.

Helmer, 31, has registered seven points (1g, 6a) in 9 games with the Falcons this season. Helmer leads Springfield with a plus/minus rating of +6. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native made his debut with the Falcons versus the Manchester Monarchs on February 6th after missing the first four months of the campaign with an injury.

The Coyotes acquired Helmer from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Martin Grenier on July 25, 2003.

The Falcons will look to extend their five-game winning streak when the club hosts the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Springfield Civic Center on Friday. Game time is 7:35 p.m. For ticket information, please contact the Falcons team office (413) 739-3344.
