MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (JULY 16, 2015) -- The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are thrilled to announce a partnership with the Horry County Department of Airports that places the Pelicans prominently in Myrtle Beach International Airport and gives the chance for fans to win a trip for two to Orlando.

"Horry County Department of Airports is excited to partner with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans," said Pat Apone, Horry County Director of Airports. "The partnership allows the Pelicans to promote their 2015 season in the Myrtle Beach International Airport and the airport to promote new non-stop service on Allegiant to Orlando inside of TicketReturm.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark."

When travelers arrive to Myrtle Beach through Myrtle Beach International Airport, they are now met with information about the Pelicans in baggage claim, with vinyl advertisements on the baggage claim belts. Replicas of Pelicans jerseys hang above each carousel as well, indicating the number of each carousel through the uniform number on the front of the jersey.

The Pelicans mascot, Splash, and the Pelicans promotional team will also be at the baggage claim at various times throughout the summer on Thursdays and Saturdays to greet the new arrivals.

"The partnership with Myrtle Beach International Airport was born out of a desire to welcome the Cubs players to Myrtle Beach with a recorded welcome announcement from Cubs Manager Joe Maddon," explained Pelicans President and General Manager Andy Milovich.

Through the Pelicans, Myrtle Beach International Airport and Allegiant Air will be promoting Allegiant Air's new non-stop flight to and from Myrtle Beach International Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport both in-park and on Pelicans radio broadcasts.

The flight, which takes off on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the summer, is the first "destination-to-destination" flight that the carrier has brought to this market.

"After meeting with Assistant Director of Airports Kirk W. Lovell to discuss the idea, we quickly realized that there was great overlap in who we serve," added Milovich. "The 63,000 local adults who have attended Pelicans games match perfectly with the audience that the airport targets for outbound flights. Similarly, the demographic profiles of visitors arriving via the airport align with our demographic targets. It's an incredibly unique partnership that provides great value to all parties."

Additionally, through the Pelicans' in-stadium and online platforms, Allegiant Air is giving away a trip for two to Orlando.

To enter, and for full contest details, fans are encouraged to go to the Pelicans Facebook page or text "ALLEGIANT" to 72727.

The 2015 season marks the 17th season for the Pelicans franchise and first as the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. For information on tickets to see the Pelicans in 2015, please call (843) 918-6000, e-mail info@myrtlebeachpelicans.com, or visit www.MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
