ZEBULON, N.C. (July 16, 2015) - Trey Michalczewski pushed his hitting streak to nine with a perfect night at the plate, but the Winston-Salem Dash saw their five-game road winning streak end in a 4-2 defeat to the Carolina Mudcats on Thursday at Five County Stadium.

Carolina (10-11, 44-46) starter Lucas Sims (3-4) fired six strong innings, yielding just one run on five hits. He issued one walk against eight strikeouts to earn his first win since May 9.

Connor Lien doubled with one out in the bottom of the first before swiping third base. Winston-Salem brought the infield in, but Dustin Peterson slashed a single to right to plate the game's first run.

In the last of the third, Johan Camargo lined a base hit to center and then swiped second. With two outs, Peterson came through again, flaring a single down the right field line to score Camargo and put Carolina on top 2-0.

Winston-Salem (11-8, 41-48) finally broke through in the sixth. Adam Engel walked with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Two batters later, Michalczewski picked up an RBI in a sixth straight game with a single to center.

However, the Mudcats responded right away. Lien singled to begin the frame and scooted all the way to third on a groundout. Carlos Franco cranked an RBI double, and Joey Meneses followed with another run-scoring hit to give the Muddies a 4-1 advantage.

Two innings later, Nolan Earley walked with one out. An Engel double put runners on second and third. Jake Peter cashed in a run on a groundout to make it 4-2 Carolina, but the Dash would get no closer. Kyle Kinman preserved the two-run lead in the eighth, Richie Tate pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.

James Dykstra (3-8) took the loss for Winston-Salem, surrendering four runs on seven hits in six innings of work. Jefferson Olacio and Euclides Leyer each pitched a scoreless frame in relief of Dykstra.

Jordan Guerrero (2-1, 4.79 ERA) takes the bump for Winston-Salem Friday against Carolina's Brandon Barker (3-2, 2.85 ERA). Pregame radio coverage is available at 6:45 p.m., with the first pitch at 7 p.m. on wsdash.com/broadcast and the TuneIn App.

After their four-game set in Carolina, the Dash return to BB&T Ballpark for a de facto doubleheader with the Lynchburg Hillcats. First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. for the completion of a suspended game started in Lynchburg on June 27.
