MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Due to the overwhelming response to Deaf Awareness Night and the high demand from fans for wearable items, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans are introducing a new merchandise line that replaces the traditional Pelicans script with American Sign Language.

The items, including fitted and adjustable hats, youth and adult shirts and jerseys, are available for pre-order now at myrtlebeachpelicans.com/asl. A portion of the proceeds from these products will go to help local organizations that benefit the deaf community.

The Pelicans will celebrate Deaf Awareness Night at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Deaf Awareness Night will be headlined by former major league outfielder Curtis Pride, who, along with Pelicans players and coaches, will host a free youth baseball clinic for members of the deaf community. Registration for the camp is available on www.MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
