Makeup Date with Hillcats Set for August 7 at Five County Stadium

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats announced today that the club's previously suspended game versus the Hillcats in Lynchburg on July 23 will be made up as part of a de facto doubleheader on Tuesday, August 7 at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.

The Tuesday, August 7 de facto doubleheader will start with the resumption of the previously suspended game beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will continue with a full nine-inning game beginning no earlier than 7:00 p.m. At minimum, a :30 minute break will separate the two games. The Five County Stadium gates will open at 5:00 p.m. ahead of the de facto doubleheader.

The previously suspended game will continue in the Carolina half of the sixth inning with the Mudcats leading 5-0 and with two outs in the inning. The game will be played through the ninth inning and beyond if necessary. The Mudcats will be the road team at Five County Stadium when the first game resumes; the format will revert back to the norm for the regularly scheduled second game.

First established in 1991, the two-time Southern League Champion Mudcats are entering their 28th consecutive season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. The 2018 season marks the first for the Mudcats under the ownership of the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
