Paul Baier Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that defenseman Paul Baier has been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Baier, 26, played in 39 games with the Stingrays this season scoring two goals and six assists for eight points. The Summit, New Jersey, native appeared in two contests with the Bears racking up five penalty minutes. Last season, Baier competed in 65 games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL netting 10 points (2g, 8a). Prior to turning pro, the third-round selection of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft attended Brown University for four seasons totaling 28 points (5g, 23a) in 125 contests.

The Stingrays return to action Friday, January 27 against the Trenton Titans at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. The ZOOperstars, hockey's #1 entertainment act, will be performing during the first and second intermissions!
