Pair of Blades selected for World Under 17 Hockey Challenge

The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce that current defenseman, Stefan Elliott, and goaltending prospect, Matthew Krahn, have been selected to play in the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge as members of Team Pacific and Team West respectively.

Elliott, a 16 year-old rookie defenseman from North Vancouver, British Columbia, was named to Team Pacific on Friday. In 24 games so far this season, Elliott has 4 goals and 11 assists for 15 points and 6 penalty minutes. He is currently tied for seventh in rookie scoring in the Western Hockey League and eighteenth in defenseman scoring in the league.

Krahn, a 16 year-old goaltending prospect from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was named to Team West last Tuesday. He was a late training camp cut of the Blades and is currently a member of the Winnipeg Wild of the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League. In seven games played so far this season, Krahn has a 5-2 record with a 2.29 GAA.

The 2008 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge takes place from December 29, 2007-January 4, 2008 in London, Ontario.
