
Bowman Named Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week

CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Drayson Bowman of the Spokane Chiefs.
Bowman picked up eight points in three games during the week of November 12th through to November 18th. He scored six goals, two assists and was plus four, helping the Chiefs to a 3-0 record in that span.
On Tuesday, November 13th, the Chiefs hosted the Prince George Cougars at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Bowman picked up the 'hat-trick' netting three goals and adding one assist as the Chiefs downed the Cougars 4-1. He was also named the games 1st Star.
On Friday, November 16th, the WHL East Division leading Regina Pats stopped into Spokane to face the Chiefs on their annual U.S. swing. Bowman scored two goals as his Spokane Club picked up another two points in the standings defeating the Pats 4-2. He was also named the games 1st Star.
On Saturday, November 17th, the Prince George Cougars were back at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena after back to back nights taking on the Tri City Americans. Bowman picked up the game winning goal and had one assist as the Chiefs won 5-1 over the Cougars. Bowman was also named the games 3rd Star.
With the three straight victories the Spokane Chiefs now find themselves in first place on the WHL U.S. Division, WHL Western Conference and the entire Western Hockey League.
Bowman, an 18 year old from Littleton, Colorado, is in his third full season of play in the Western Hockey League and with the Spokane Chiefs. At the 2007 NHL Entry Draft this past June, Bowman was selected in the 3rd round - 72nd overall by the Carolina Hurricanes.
The WHL has also nominated Justin Leclerc of the Kamloops Blazers for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award.
