Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ECHL announced today that Condors RW Chad Painchaud has been named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 16 - Feb. 22. Painchaud is the second consecutive Condor to win the weekly league award, as RW Mike Wirll was named the ECHL Player of the Week (Feb. 9 - Feb. 15) last Tuesday.

Painchaud, 22, helped lead the Condors to a 3-0-1 record on the week with 5g-5a-10pts in the team's four games. Painchaud, who is currently on a three-game point streak, tallied 2g-2a-4pts in the Condors 6-5 win in Utah on Feb. 18. He followed that with a combined 3g-3a-6pts in two games against Victoria over the weekend, including a career-high five points in Sunday's 5-2 win. He also tied a career high with three assists and netted the game-winning goal on Sunday.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, is ranked 2nd in the ECHL with 44 assists and 4th in the league with 64 points, which are both career highs for the third-year pro. Painchaud, who is under contract to the Iowa Chops (AHL), is tied for the ECHL lead with 11 goals in the month of February, and is also tied for the league lead (with Condors LW Mark Derlago) with 21 points in 12 games so far this month. Painchaud has at least one point in 15 of his last 17 games, dating back to Jan. 23. He ranks 3rd in the ECHL during that stretch with 26 points (11g-15a).

On behalf of Painchaud, a case of pucks will be donated to a Bakersfield youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
