Salmon Kings Team Up with The Land Conservancy to Host Inaugural Eco Night

VICTORIA, B.C. - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they are opening their doors to Mother Nature on Saturday, March 14, 2009 as they host the first annual Eco Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Together with TLC The Land Conservancy of BC, the Salmon Kings are painting the arena "green" in the name of conservation as proceeds from the hockey game's activities will benefit TLC.

The Salmon Kings have created a special ticket promotion rate of $18 per person. This offer will be available from February 23 to March 12, 2009 until 5:30 p.m. The first $3 from each sale will be donated to TLC to protect special places in B.C. such as the Sooke Potholes. The Salmon Kings will also be donating profits from the 50/50 and Chuck-A-Puck to TLC. The winner of the Chuck-A-Puck contest will receive a weekend getaway to South Winchelsea Island, one of TLC's first acquisitions, near Nanoose Bay. This 25-acre island is home to a well-equipped cottage that sleeps six. Travel package includes ferry service to and from the island. TLC will also be selling raffle tickets for a Robert Bateman painting.

Throughout the evening, fans can stop by and visit various display booths in the concourse to learn how local businesses are improving their environmental footprints.
