Levi Nelson Loaned To Reading

Reading Royals News Release


Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that center Levi Nelson has been loaned from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to the Royals. In other separate transactions, the Royals (i) activated forward Peder Skinner from the 3-Day Injured Reserve; and (ii) released forward John Geverd. In another transaction previously completed, forward Ryan Gibbons was placed on the 7-Day Injured Reserve.

Nelson (6'0/192) (20), a first year pro who hails from Calgary, Alberta, scored two goals and assisted on three others (five points) and amassed thirty-five penalty minutes in fifty-one games with the Bruins this year. Nelson, a sixth round pick (#158 overall) of the Boston Bruins in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, scored sixty-five goals, assisted on eighty-seven others (152 points) and registered 340 penalty minutes in 198 major junior games with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League from 2004-08.

The Royals face the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight (Tuesday, February 24 @ 7:30 pm) at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
