August 14, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release
The Tucson Padres scored multiple runs in four different innings Tuesday, leading them to a 13-6 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks at Kino Stadium. The Padres extended their winning streak five games and kept pace in the Southern Division pennant race, currently in third place, three games out of first.
George Springer put the RedHawks ahead 2-0 in the top of the first with an inside-the-park home run off the top of the batter's eye that center fielder Reymond Fuentes appeared to mistake for a dead ball. It was the first inside the park home run at Kino Stadium in the Tucson Padres era.
The Padres quickly responded by scoring five runs on six hits in the bottom of the first. Mike Wilson's two-run single brought home the first two runs of the inning, while Brandon Allen and Gregorio Petit also contributed with RBI hits. The Padres have scored 17 runs in the first inning in their last five games. Oklahoma City tied the score at five in the top of the fourth on RBI doubles from Jon Singleton and Marwin Gonzalez.
Tucson answered back in the bottom half of the inning with two runs coming from Fuentes' RBI double and Dean Anna's sacrifice fly. After the RedHawks added a run to start the sixth, the Padres scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to increase their lead to 10-6. Tucson tacked on three additional runs in the eighth on RBI singles from Chris Robinson, Anna and Allen. Anna finished the night with three RBIs, while Fuentes scored a game-high four runs.
Jorge Reyes earned his sixth win after pitching two relief innings, while Asher Wojciechowski took the loss for Oklahoma City. Tucson starter Matt Andriese went four innings, allowing six hits and four earned runs while striking out four.
