Iowa Cubs News Release

Des Moines, IA - The Chicago Cubs have activated C Luis Flores from the disabled list, re-assigned C Chad Noble from Iowa to double-A Tennessee, and promoted LH Jeff Antigua from Tennesse to the I-Cubs.

Flores has been on the D.L. since August 6 due to a concussion suffered when he was hit on top of the helmet with the follow through of a swing during the Cubs' game in Tacoma on August 5. Flores is batting .203 (32-for-158) with eight doubles, four home runs, and 15 RBI in 50 games with Iowa this year and is batting .265 (13-for-49) with two home runs and seven RBI since July 1.

Noble batted .286 (4-for-14) with an RBI and two runs scored in four games on this current home stand and is batting .167 (4-for-24) in six games over two different stints with Iowa this season. He also joined the Cubs just prior to the All-Star Break when Flores was on the paternity list.

Antigua begins his fourth different stint with Iowa this year and is 2-1 with a 4.61 ERA (14ER/27.1IP) in 11 games, including one start, with the Cubs this season. His last appearance with Iowa was on July 22 with Iowa. Antigua has appeared with all four of the Cubs' full-season affiliates this year and is 7-2 with a 3.39 ERA (26ER/69.0IP) and one save in 30 appearances. He has allowed 58 hits and 25 walks while striking out 69. His only start was with Iowa in game two of a double-header on June 21 against Nashville.

The Cubs play game three of a four-game series against the Sacramento River Cats today at 12:05 at Principal Park. RH Casey Coleman (3-3, 3.39 ERA) will make his first start of the season for Iowa against LH Carlos Hernandez (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who will make his River Cats' debut. The game will be broadcast live on AM 940, and streamed at iowacubs.com, with the pre-game show starting at 11:40.
