
P-Bruins Take Down Penguins 2-1, Cunningham with 2 Points

Providence Bruins News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA - Providence Bruins defeat W/B Scranton Penguins by a final score 2-1. The goal scorers were Craig Cunningham and Ryan Spooner. Malcolm Subban made 31 saves in the win.
P-Bruins struck first at the 3:42 mark when Cunningham beat Peter Mannino in the slot with his 22nd goal of the season. The assists were from Nick Johnson and Zach Trotman.
Penguins tied the game just 17 seconds in the second period when Chuck Kobasew scored his 6th goal of the season. Andrew Ebbett and Phillip Samuelsson had the assists. P-Bruins regained the lead when Ryan Spooner scored his ninth goal of the season at the 14:50 mark, beating Mannino under his left pad. He was fed by Cunningham down low, Seth Griffith was credited with the second assist.
Third period went scoreless but P-Bruins had a great chance to extend the lead when Griffith hit the crossbar during a power play. Penguins looked to tie it up at the end when Mannino went to the bench but Subban shut the door.
Providence went 1- for -4 on the power play and 5 - for -5 on the penalty kill. Mannino made 18 saves.
Riding on the momentum of back-to-back wins, The P-Bruins head north on Friday, March 28 to take on the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. They return to The Dunk on Friday, April 4 where they will face-off against the Worcester Sharks at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a coozie courtesy of Uncle Bob's Storage.
