Coyotes Recall Murphy from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Connor Murphy from the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Murphy has registered 1-7-8 and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in 26 games with the Coyotes this season. He has also recorded 0-11-11 and 46 PIM in 34 games with Portland. The 21-year-old native of Dublin, Ohio made his NHL debut this season on Nov. 16 vs. Tampa Bay.

Murphy was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (20th overall) in the 2011 Entry Draft.
